A Dazzling Political Pirouette for Jill Stein and Ron Paul: Unity Peace, Constitution, Recovery.

In 2008 after losing the Republican nomination for president, Ron Paul appeared with Green Party candidate Ralph Nader in the Situation Room. Paul had decided that he would not be endorsing Republican nominee John McCain, having too many reservations such as McCain's support for the Iraq War and his near pathological desire to attack Iran. Wolf Blitzer pressed Paul on whether he would endorse Nader. Nader chuckled ever so lightly as his old friend said "No I don't think I'm going to do that, but I do urge voters to vote for one of the third party candidates, such as Ralph..."

Paul and Nader have been friends for years, and the kind of conversation they would have sharing a taxi to the airport could be required reading for all elected officials.

Around the same time, Dan Rasmussen, a former Ron Paul staffer, penned an essay at the Campaign for Liberty website entitled "We Agree." In it he pointed out that Ralph Nader, Green Party presidential 2008 presidential nominee Cynthia McKinney, and 2008 Constitution Party nominee Chuck Baldwin agreed on four principles:

"Foreign Policy: The Iraq War must end as quickly as possible with removal of all our soldiers from the region. We must initiate the return of our soldiers from around the world, including Korea, Japan, Europe and the entire Middle East. We must cease the war propaganda, threats of a blockade and plans for attacks on Iran, nor should we re-ignite the cold war with Russia over Georgia. We must be willing to talk to all countries and offer friendship and trade and travel to all who are willing. We must take off the table the threat of a nuclear first strike against all nations.

Privacy: We must protect the privacy and civil liberties of all persons under US jurisdiction. We must repeal or radically change the Patriot Act, the Military Commissions Act, and the FISA legislation. We must reject the notion and practice of torture, eliminations of habeas corpus, secret tribunals, and secret prisons. We must deny immunity for corporations that spy willingly on the people for the benefit of the government. We must reject the unitary presidency, the illegal use of signing statements and excessive use of executive orders.

The National Debt: We believe that there should be no increase in the national debt. The burden of debt placed on the next generation is unjust and already threatening our economy and the value of our dollar. We must pay our bills as we go along and not unfairly place this burden on a future generation.

The Federal Reserve: We seek a thorough investigation, evaluation and audit of the Federal Reserve System and its cozy relationships with the banking, corporate, and other financial institutions. The arbitrary power to create money and credit out of thin air behind closed doors for the benefit of commercial interests must be ended. There should be no taxpayer bailouts of corporations and no corporate subsidies. Corporations should be aggressively prosecuted for their crimes and frauds."

Now Green Party presidential candidate Dr. Jill Stein recently called Audit the Fed HR 459 a "no-brainer." She is the only candidate who has debated Mitt Romney, as a candidate for governor of Massachusetts, and says "it's easy to debate a robot." A Left-Right unity ticket focusing on just four areas as the US agenda, and agreeing to work for these alone, would, to the surprise of many, make an easy marriage of the Green Party and Ron Paul's Revolution.

Such a ticket could say our priorities for the next four years are:

- Pull all US troops out of Iraq and Afghanistan, focus on friendly trade only. Close at least half of the 700 US military bases around the world. Audit the Pentagon.

- Roll back the Patriot Act, NDAA indefinite military detention of American citizens, the deployment of surveillance drones in US skies, and the expansion of the TSA. Give a speech on the meaning of the Bill of Rights in a monthly radio broadcast.

- Pass Audit the Federal Reserve.

- End the bank bail-outs.

Such a platform would start the US economy on the path back to growth and solvency. The rest of our respective platforms, we will agree to disagree on.

Jill Stein is an MD like Ron Paul. She and her VP running mate Cheri Honkala need a way to put some of the most important of their issues before the American people, and though they are on the progressive side in some of their economic approaches, on the most fundamental bedrock issues, war, Constitution, crony capitalism, there is almost zero daylight between their positions. Under a new Paul Stein ticket, Honkala would be appointed Chief of Staff or Secretary of State.

All issues are not equal. Before you can argue about health care, you need freedom of speech. Before you argue about specific approaches to the environment, you need to avoid economic collapse. As doctors, both Stein and Paul understand that before you argue over a long-term treatment plan, you need to stop the massive hemorrhaging in the patient, and stop blood pressure from plummeting. That is where we, America, is at.

Some on either side would recoil at the thought, with Paulers saying "Jill Stein! She's a leftie! Ron Paul! He's a Republican!" But that is shuffling the chairs on the deck of the sinking Titanic. This is a matter of survival.

Another $16 trillion in bank bail-outs, completely out of the purview of the Congress, have been discovered by Paul's successful partial Fed audit sponsored by himself and Sen. Bernie Sanders last year, some of it to banks which aren't even American. This is in addition to the projected $23 trillion in bail-outs which we will pay over the coming years, according to Special Inspector for TARP bail-outs, Neil Barofsky, before he was forced out for telling the truth.

The CNBC reported in 2010 on the Pentagon's actual war-gaming of economic collapse scenarios, in which martial law could be declared. Only three third parties, the Greens, the Libertarian, and the Constitution Party, are on the ballot in enough states to get a theoretical 270 electoral votes to win. Ron Paul needs a national ballot. Stein and Honkala need a way for their party to have a real chance at seeing the inside of the White House.

Will Stein and Honkala pick up the phone and call Paul, and say, we hear you are willing to run third party? What can we do for you, Hero of the Constitution and foe of the war hysteria of the last 10 years? Almost alone in Congress Paul has stood up for our rights, for our right not to be detained indefinitely by the military without charge, pushed for and signed by Obama, for our right not to be ordered assassinated by the Executive Branch, . The only sane man standing in the field of contenders must not be allowed to walk away, or else we deliver ourselves to the lunatics.
